I will miss him and Michelle!
I realized last night, while drawing the SOTU, that the camera shots of various people in the audience were so quick that it was hard to gather imagery in my mind in order to draw certain people. The camera was mostly on the three big guys. Also realized: I barely listened to anything Obama said. Did I miss much?
Next up: the Olympics!
Today is election day in the US, and I am very nervous. It is too close to call, but I am hopeful that President Obama will be re-elected. To see more cartoons and videos of me drawing cartoons about the election please visit my Forbes.com column!
I posted this cartoon and some suggestions as to how to get through this political season with your mind still intact on my column for Forbes.com. I love politics, but sometimes I feel my head might explode. Here is the link!!
I drew this cartoon four years ago, not long after Hillary lost the Democratic nomination for president. There were a lot of Democratic voters who were disappointed, but happy to vote for Obama. Maybe his wife Michelle made it an easier pill to swallow–who knows. Michelle’s speech this week at the democratic National Convention showed us again her brilliance, generosity, humor and devotion. And her great arms.
I love watching the conventions. Last night of the Republican National Convention was particularly wacky because of the strange performance of Clint Eastwood, talking to an empty chair. But there were a lot of other fun things, and I made a list which you can see here. Condi, Christie, Paulie, Annie and Mittie, all were there. It was quite a party. Follow me on twitter for the fun of next weeks’ convention with the Democrats! @lizadonnelly
