I was honored to receive the International Prize at the Salon du Dessins de Presse et d’Humour in St Just, France. I was given     two beautiful statues: a porcelaine cow and cartoon character. My French colleagues pictured here received the Regional Awards, and we were joined by students, who presented the awards to us.

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict in Cartoons

My good friend Michel Kishka, has curated an exhibit with a grassroots group The Parents Circle – Palestinian and Israeli Bereaved families for reconciliation. I have several cartoons in the exhibition, which is opening in the Israeli Cartoon Museum in Holon, Israel, and will travel around the world.  It is expected to be in New York City at some point in the future.

Helen Thomas and me

“If you want truth in this country, read the comic strips.” -Helen Thomas

The great icon, Helen Thomas, speaks the truth! She said so many great things on Saturday, in her interview at Omega Institute. She and I were on a panel, Women and the Media. It was an incredible honor to meet her and participate with her.  We were interviewed by another amazing person in journalism, Pat Mitchel.

dscriber cartoon

An interesting new news site, called dscriber, invited me to contribute cartoons…or panels or anything, really.  I did this a few days ago in response to the hiring of Diane Sawyer as news anchor.  I know the media and Hollywood love to create battles, particularly between women, so I drew this cartoon. The sad thing is, the public eats it up, and wants to believe that women hate each other.  It’s hogwash, of course, and has to be shot down!
