LIza is the innovator of digital live-drawing. In 2015, Liza discovered that she could quickly draw on her iPad and post her drawings instantaneously on social media. It all started when she was watching the State Of The Union, she began drawing what she saw….and the response was immediately positive. Since then, she has drawn the SOTU every year, and her live-drawing has been attracting increased attention as news becomes more and more innovative and visual.
She live draws the Oscars and the red carpet live on location and has done so for seven years, first cartoonist to ever get Academy Awards press credentials. She has also drawn the Emmys, the Golden Globes, the Grammys, the BET Awards, the Tony Awards, the DNC, a White House Press Conference, the Inauguration, the Women’s Marches, literary events, and more. Some of her clients include The New Yorker, CBS News, Fusion, The New York Times, BET, Medium, PBS, Narrative Magazine and others. Her live tweet drawings have been covered in NBC News Ad Week USAToday and People Magazine
She even draws on the subway in NYC, on her iphone with her finger. To see some, visit her Medium page, here.
Liza ran and drew the New York City Marathon twice.
These drawings are impressions, her perspective of what she sees. Visual reportage, visual sharing.
